OLD CaSi Wire
Got a some spools of really old CaSi wire rusted up. They have been outside for 15+ years and are not usable at ladle furnace. Anyone have experience putting a full spool in furnace? our FCE is 120 tap ton. Original specs would have been ~3,800lbs powder (33% Ca & 65% Si). Charge or landfill?

We are looking into different options for uniform suppliers. I was wondering what companies everyone is using? This is mainly for the meltshop, so FR is our main concern.
EAF entry temperature
I know this was asked a couple of years ago by Dave and Damon was the only one that answered so let’s try again. Does anyone know of any “standard” or “maximum” refractory or ambient temperature before entering the EAF for a reline or patch. If not, what do you do in your shop?
EAF Transformer failure- Repair.
Unfortunately, we just had the dreaded EAF transformer (80 MVA) internal arcing failure. We are starting to swap our transformer for a spare (smaller capacity 60 MVA) so we are evaluation options to repair the one that just failed Any recommendations for companies that can do this? Thank you.
