Silicon Carbide
We’ve used silicon carbide in the past as a ladle add. Is anyone using silicon carbide? What are the major issues with it? I know we’ve had some variability in the past with carbide, and we had some boron issues. Anyone know of anything else?

Hello. I am looking for a cost-effective solution for closed bottom mold plugs. Our current supplier has ceased production of sand plugs. I am finding cast solutions, but attached is a much heftier price tag. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
off-gas analysis at EAD
Hi Friends. I am getting some pressure to seriously consider off-gas analysis in duct work for water leak detection. I recall several shops have tried this but got false positives and false negatives. Feedback if you have tried it and succeeded or failed would be helpful. Brendan
