EAF Automatic Process Control

When do you drop 2nd charge?

For those with multiple charge buckets, what is a typical KWH/scrap ton that you drop your second charge? Who/what determines that timing? Do you have a maximum KWH or KWH/ton to avoid over-melting and potentially damaging bottom?

How does everyone clean up dust on the furnace deck?

furnace brick retainers

Good Afternoon , I was questioned today if we could put some kind of retainer just above the furnace wall brick to hold it from being able to push up . I have never heard of this before . is this something that some people are doing ? thanks Sean
